Metal Braces
Metal braces are the most widely used type of braces. They are very strong and can withstand most types of treatment. Unlike the metal braces of the past, today’s metal braces are smaller, more comfortable and more attractive. Most people choose to accessorize their braces with different colored ties (which hold the wire in place).
Invisalign®
Invisalign® are “braces” that consist of strong plastic trays that are fabricated especially for you. Invisalign® is for adult and teen patients who have moderate orthodontic problems. Invisalign® is nearly invisible. Virtually no one will know that you are straightening your smile!
Clear Braces
Ceramic or clear braces are made of ceramic material. They are more often chosen by adult patients because they “blend in” with their teeth. One drawback with the clear braces has to do with the ligatures (tiny rubber bands) that hold the arch wire in place, and they can stain between visits to your orthodontist.
